Cavity Barriers & Fire Stop Systems

Cavity barriers are designed to enclose concealed spaces within a building to prevent the spread of smoke and flame. Kilnbridge supply and install vertical and horizontal cavity barriers in external wall systems and other areas such as under raised access flooring, roof voids etc. In closed cavities, the purpose of the cavity barrier is to maintain the required fire resistance of the compartment line stated within the fire strategies. In accordance with ADB, cavity barriers should be a minimum of 30 minutes integrity and 15 minutes insulation, but performance will depend on the fire strategy requirements. The cavity barriers must be selected to achieve the project requirements and installed in accordance with the manufactures recommendations and supporting evidence.
