Mental Health Awareness Day 2024

10 October 2024

Mental health awareness and support remains a vital part of overall health and wellbeing in the construction and engineering industries. Earlier this year, Kilnbridge become partners with Lighthouse, The Construction Charity, who steadfastly champion mental health resources in our industry, and issued an internal call to colleagues to help us prioritise mental health in our organisation in new ways.

Martin Scott, HSEQ Director says, “World Mental Health Day was created to raise awareness of, and drive positive improvements in, everyone’s mental health. It’s also a chance to talk about mental health, how we need to look after it, and how important it is to get help if you are struggling.

We want everyone to feel comfortable talking about mental health. Talking reduces stigma, helping to create a supportive workplace and where we can be open about mental health and feel empowered to seek help when we need it.

As part of our Health and Wellbeing strategy, Kilnbridge has been working hard throughout the year to train and achieve a target of a minimum of 5% of our workforce as trained Mental Health First Aiders, and to ensure that each of our Projects has at least one dedicated Mental Health First Aider. I am pleased to say, that we have achieved this target and will continue to not only maintain, but grow this number.”
